Beliefs

We, the members of the Hedrick Church of God of the Abrahamic Faith, Hedrick, Indiana purpose is to (a) increasing our mutual helpfulness in pursuing our faith in God and His Anointed Son unto the appearing of our Lord and Savior and (b) rendering common aid in providing ways and means for proclaiming this gospel of the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ to “every creature”.

We believe the following outstanding truths of the Bible. They constitute the teaching and doctrine of the church.

A.) The oneness of God (1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6)

B.) The Holy Spirit is God’s power (Luke 1:35; Acts 1:8)

C.) Jesus Christ is God’s only begotten son (Matthew 16:16), existing only from His birth

(Luke 1:31), and is now our Mediator (1Timothy 2:5)

D.) The Bible is the inspired Word of God and is our sole source of authority (II Timothy 3:16)

E.) The mortality of man (Job 4:17)

F.) The near return of Jesus Christ (Acts 1:11) and eternal life comes only through Him

(Colossians 3: 1-4)

G.) The literal resurrection of the dead (John 5:28-29)

H.) The immortalization of those in Christ (I Corinthians 15:51-54)

I.) The destruction of the wicked (Revelations 21:8)

J.) The final restoration of Israel as the Kingdom of God under the Kinship of Christ (Luke 1:32), the church to be joint heirs with Him (Romans 8:17), and Israel to be made head over all nations (Isaiah 60: 1-3)

K.) The restitution of all things which God hath spoken by the mouth of all His Holy prophets since the world began (Acts 3:21)

L.) We also firmly advocate repentance and immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38), and a consecrated life as essential to salvation (Romans 6)

M.) Our part of God’s plan of salvation is to:

(a) Repent (Acts 2:38)

(b) Accept Jesus as Savior (Acts 4:12)

(c) Be baptized by immersion (Romans 6:4)

(d) Continued obedience of faith (II Peter 1: 5-8)

N.) With the return of Jesus Christ, the Church will be completed and glorified. Believers who are sleeping in death will be resurrected to immortality in the first resurrection. (II Thess. 4:16, I Cor. 15:52-53). Believers who are living when Jesus returns will be changed to immortality. (I Cor. 15: 51-53; I Thess. 4:17)

O.) The Kingdom of God will be established upon the earth after the return of Christ. It will be the eternal dwelling place of the redeemed. It will supersede and replace all earthly kingdoms. The earth will be purified of sin and restored to its original perfection. (Dan. 2:44)

P.) God’s Kingdom is a literal kingdom yet to be established throughout the earth with Christ as King and His immortalized saints as co-rulers with Him (Rev. 5:9-10; 11:15 20:6)

Q.) God's original intent for marriage was between one man and one woman who love each other, which intent has never changed. God asks that a man leaves his father and his mother and shall cleave unto his wife and they shall be one flesh. God blessed them and God said unto them, be fruitful and multiply, and replenish the earth. (Genesis 2:24 & Genesis 1:28).
